JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Prepares, records and submits warranties & warranty cancelations to the factory and/or distributor and reconciles them accordingly.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processes warranty purchases on a timely basis for each franchise or distributor.
- Processes cancellations on a timely basis for each product.
- Verifies criteria required by factory or distributor.
- Reconciles all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedule.
- Reconciles all warranty payables through the appropriate accounting schedule.
- Posts journal entries to clear schedules on a daily basis for product cancellations on a computer.
- Resubmits all rejected Products after resolving the issue with the Finance department.
- Follows up on payment of outstanding cancels.
- Files and maintains all records.
- Keeps informed of all factory recalls and bulletins certified vehicles.
- Stays current with all manufacturer and other vendors product guidelines and training.
- Assists with answering phones.
- Assists with any clerical needs as directed by the manager or the controller.
- Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Remains compliant with company training and compliance programs.
- Filing
- Supporting your team mates with their duties when on PTO.
- Willing to cross train with other duties in the accounting office.
- Postings credit card transactions to the GL from Tempus.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
- Dealership Experience is a must.
- At least 1 year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work under pressure of a deadline due to fast paced and high volume.
- Ability to follow through with all duties and/or projects.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers and coworkers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Comfortable using office equipment such as phone, computer, calculator, printer, fax
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug.)
