JOB SUMMARY: The Water Quality Technician assists certified Operators in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems. The Water Quality Technician may work independently, interact with customers, and have specifically assigned duties and responsibilities. This position requires extensive day travel in service area in a Development Authority vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILL, ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE):

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read system design prints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and possess excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to be creative and flexible.
• Must meet the training certification requirements for confined space entrant, confined space attendant, and confined space rescue in accordance with the Authority Health and Safety Manual.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma.
