The Web Content Manager conceptualizes, implements, maintains and coordinates all university website content and features in support of the web restructure project. This position works collaboratively with colleagues within
Communications and Marketing, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Institutional Technology and Academic Affairs.

Responsibilities:
- Partners with academic and administrative offices, programs and departments to develop and aggregate content to ensure it addresses university messaging and marketing and enrollment management goals.
- Advises departmental web content editors on appropriate website structure, content, navigation, and usability.
- Maintains content standards for the university website to ensure the university’s digital brand presence and strategic outreach to key target audiences.
- Collaborates with content managers for web digital assets including text, video, graphics and photographs.
- Monitors content on high-level pages and edits and/or writes original content in the university CMS as needed.
- Works closely with various content providers, in particular the academic colleges and departments, to ensure that web content is accurate, updated regularly, and is in concert with the university’s marketing and branding standards. Creates and edits that content in the university CMS as needed.
- Monitors positioning on search engines on a continual basis and employs SEO strategies to optimize content. Adjust page settings in the university CMS to optimize SEO strategies.
- Participates in regular communications and marketing strategy meetings.
- Works with Institutional Technology to facilitate maintenance of technical aspects of the site and content adherence to the university’s Accessibility Plan
- Monitors analytics to track utilization and modify problem areas in the university CMS.
- Reviews competitors’ sites and keeps abreast of current trends.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience managing content and production for high-traffic website. Experience in higher education preferred.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills (samples required)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with content management systems. Episerver CMS experience a plus.
- Familiarity with HTML and responsive content design for mobile devices.
- Awareness of web accessibility and its implications on the creation of content
- Proficiency with Photoshop and video editing/posting.
- Thorough knowledge of Mac platform required and a familiarity with PC platform desired
