Position Purpose:
This self-motivated individual will lead our Sales & Catering team at the Best Western Premier Bridgewood Resort Hotel & Conference Center. The ideal candidate has sales experience, a friendly, positive demeanor, leadership traits, the ability to learn new computer programs, can multitask and complete projects in a timely and organized manner. The person should demonstrate exceptional guest service and problem-solving skills.
Position Duties
This list of duties is not all-inclusive but rather a general guideline. Other duties may be assigned and goals may change, over time.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of business’ sales policies and procedures.
- Represents the hotel with a high level of professionalism and good judgment.
- Develop and grow food and beverage sales and associated guest room sales in the segments of weddings plus small corporate and social events.
- Schedule and conduct appointments with prospective guests, promote hotel facilities, plan event details, suggest menu and meeting items, conducting taste tests, in order to maximize usage and revenues.
- Composes and updates routine correspondence, reports or contracts, (to include banquet event orders, sales contracts, booking reports, call reports, etc.) based on organizational practice, policy and procedures at the direction of the General Manager
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Follows up with past clients by sending out surveys in a timely manner.
- Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress and is on time for scheduled shifts.
- Follows company policies and procedures.
- Join and attend local organizations that would help promote the hotel and conference center.
- Provides input to the hotel’s marketing plan.
- Meet or exceed budgeted revenue for banquet food, beverage, audio-visual and meeting room rental sales.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager
Position Requirements
- It is desired the candidate have at least one year previous hotel and/or catering sales manager experience or sales experience in a related field. A college degree is not required but could be a factor in the final selection of a candidate.
- Excellent skill-set to include verbal/written communication, problem identification, problem solving, time management and math competency skills.'
- Proficient in computer functions (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web access…) Experience with Opera Point of Sale System beneficial.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must have flexible work schedule and work as required. Nights and weekends will be necessary as well as potential holidays. Typical schedule is Tuesday through Saturday.
- Represent the company in a professional manner with good judgment and in an ethical manner.
- Average hours are 45-50 per week.
