Sidewinders Advance is hiring a Welder for an open role in Valencia, CA!
- Pay: $28-$33 hr (based on experience)
- Shift: Dayshift (subject to change)
Requirements:
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in welding within a manufacturing environment
- Able to lead a small team (supervisory experience a plus)
- Able to read and interpret blueprints
- ARC welding certified
- MIG and TIG welding
- ASME welder certified preferred
- Refinery, high pressure oil and gas piping experience a plus
Position Summary:
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Layouts, cuts, and fits materials for welding
- Selects proper welding heat and proper type and size of electrodes for correct penetration and strength of welded metals
- Tack-weld or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment
- Weld piping with 100% penetration (x-ray quality)
- Welds up to 2-inch-thick stainless steel and carbon steel material
- Perform structural, socket, and butt welding for the fabrication of turbo-expander skids
- Cut metal with plasma cutters or torches
- Pipefitting experience
- Use forklift as necessary
- Standing for extending periods of time is common.
- Lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.
