Description:

This healthcare system is located in Greenville, NC provides trauma, rehabilitation, and outpatient health services to more than 1.4M people in 70 locations across 29 counties. In an average year, about 80,000 inpatient, 460,000 outpatient and 3,000 newborn visits are treated. The clinical staff includes more than 500 physicians and 1,200 nurses.

This Windows Server Administrator will join a team of 11engineers within the systems space. The role will support multiple projects that are currently underway and coming down the pipeline within the server space. The team is currently underwater and looking to add a valuable member to the team to help with some of the daily tasks such as server decommissions and an uptick in DNS entries. This individual may be supporting some security related patching via SCCM. They will be supporting Windows 2012, 2016, and 2019 servers. Decommissioning process: ServiceNow ticketing system, by the time the tickets come to this team, the data has already been cleared, sanitized, and removed. The process is a checklist the delete VMs remove from DNS, make sure its not in Active Directory, and update the system. This process normally takes about an hour and will be a repeated process.

Projects: It is currently migrating from Windows 2012 to Windows 2019. This administrator will play a crucial role in spinning up some vanilla 2019 servers so that the applications team would then be able to come in after and doe the installs. This is a 2 year project and will support roughly 800 servers all of which are Windows focused.

Environment: Over 15,000 endpoints, 2,400 VMs, 1,900 servers, 10 physical locations, and 2 datacenters
