POSITION TITLE: Worship Coordinator

DATE: April 2023

SUPERVISOR: Lead Pastor

TIME COMMITMENT: Part Time, 15-20 hours a week

Help coordinate, plan, and help execute worship services that help people build their lives on the reality of Jesus.

LEADERSHIP ROLES:

1. Lead Weekly Worship Planning Meeting (Tuesday) and Weekly Final Review
Meeting (Thursday)

2. Oversee master worship planning document to coordinate events being highlighted in worship and help plan into the future accordingly.

3. Lead Long Range Planning Meetings on a regular basis.

4. Keep Worship team on task and bring accountability to execution of multiple departments coordinating to execute worship services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Planning Center / Worship Planning Docs

• Keep all planning documents organized and updated as needed.
• Guide the planning process in team meetings to help build worship services. This includes weekly worship services along with nights of worship, special services, and funerals.
• Coordinate, and occasionally recruit, appropriate staff & volunteers to serve in worship services. Ex: Service Host, Scripture Readers etc…

2. Lead Worship Planning Process

• Lead weekly team meetings.

• Set up and execute a planning system that keeps our services planned with healthy margin.

3. Cultivate Creativity in the process

• Educate and Familiarize yourself with worship service planning and other worship services to bring ideas to weekly planning meetings.
• Help build and invest in worship planning team, getting the right people on the team to help plan our worship services.

4. Accountability

• Work with worship staff and team to make sure all elements of worship services are where they need to be, when they need to be there.

Schedule: Tuesday: 9:30-3:30, Occasional Wed/Thursday night Worship rehearsal,
Thursday final Worship Planning Meeting. Other hours can be dispersed through the week. Not all hours need to be in the office. Attend weekly worship at Good News.

We are searching for a part-time Worship Coordinator to help plan, coordinate, and execute weekly worship services here at Good News. This is an administrative role that does not require musical or technical abilities.Time commitment of 15-20 hours per week. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate, plan, and execute worship services that help people build their lives on the reality of Jesus. The Worship
Coordinator will lead weekly worship planning meetings and oversee the master worship planning document to coordinate events being highlighted in worship and plan for future services. Additionally, the Coordinator will lead long-range planning meetings, keep the worship team on task, and bring accountability to the execution of multiple departments coordinating to execute worship services.

The key responsibilities of the Worship Coordinator include keeping all planning documents organized and updated, guiding the planning process in team meetings, leading the weekly team meetings, cultivating creativity in the process, and educating and familiarizing themselves with worship service planning and other worship services to bring ideas to weekly team planning. The Coordinator will also work with the worship staff and team to make sure all elements of worship services are in the right place at the right time, attend occasional Wednesday or Thursday night worship rehearsals, attend the weekly worship service at Good News, and invest in building the worship planning team with the right people.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
