POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs interventional radiology procedures for all ages (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) by utilizing ionizing radiation and other imaging modalities in order to aid in the diagnoses and treatment of disease. Employees will be subject to overtime and call back as required by hospital.


DUTIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Assist Radiologist in sterile procedures
  • Able to maintain sterile barriers
  • Circulate cases
  • Maintain adequate inventory and reconcile inventory discrepancies
  • Schedule cases
  • Works well with others
  • Handles stressful situation effectively and efficiently to get the job done
  • Able to perform duties and responsibilities required with little to no assistance
  • Good critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of radiation safety
  • Able to understand patients’ needs of all ages
  • Basic computer skills


SUPERVISION:

  • Assume responsibility as a part of this position to train and mentor other team members and students when necessary.
Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school in Radiologic Technology

Experience:

  • 1-2 yrs. experience recommended (not required)

Certification and Licensure:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an AMA approved school of radiologic technology
  • Must be registered with ARRT or be registry eligible and obtain registry within 18 months of hire.
  • Must be able to interact with patients, coworkers, and healthcare team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional and ethical manner.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire within 30 days
  • Registered in VI within 2 yrs. of hire (recommended)

  • Work long hours

  • Must be able to push, pull, heavy objects, stand, bend, reach and stoop
  • Able to wear lead for long periods of time
  • Able to perform a full range of body motions
  • Need good hand eye coordination and dexterity
