Organization information:

Windom Area Health (WAH) is an 18-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Windom, MN. The hospital serves Windom, Mt. Lake and the surrounding areas. Windom Area Health provides specialty outreach services on a regular basis including cardiology, hematology/oncology, ENT, podiatry, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pulmonology, urology and occupational/speech/physical therapies. Emergency room, laboratory and imaging services are also available 24 hours a day.

Windom Area Health is committed to offering obstetrics services, which many rural hospitals are no longer providing due to volume and cost associated. A fitness center and group exercise classes are also available to the community members.

Our mission is “Dedicated to Health”, which directs our decision making and services on a daily basis. We have a management agreement with Sanford Health and are owned by the City of Windom.

Job Details:

Windom Area Health is looking for a skilled Patient Accounts Manager to work full-time leading the billing department for the organization. In this role you will process complex hospital and professional claims, follow up on denials, oversee established collection and financial assistance processes, train other hospital staff on necessary steps to ensure appropriate and successful billing, and develop policies to achieve timely reimbursements. Leads a small group of billing staff on technical questions, day-to-day work duties, process improvement, change implementation, and other department management responsibilities. Candidates should have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in health insurance billing, preferably in a Critical Access Hospital environment. Bachelors degree required in healthcare management, business/accounting, or related field. Remote work available after training.
