Accounts Payable Specialist
Job description
The primary function of an Accounts Payable Specialist is to process all invoices in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Processing includes (1) invoice review, (2) PO match and research (3) check processing, and (4) statement review across multiple locations. An AP Specialist will use the company's enterprise A/P system and related processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable invoices and manage online payable queue through enterprise A/P system
- Review electronic invoices for correct vendor information, discount, and account coding
- On occasion, manually key invoices as needed
- Correctly match invoices and purchase orders in SAP Concur software
- Process weekly Check/ACH payment runs for AP disbursements
- Communicate with Yard management to resolve discrepancies between vendor invoices, confirmations, and POD's
- Establish and maintain relationships with A/P vendors
- Research and resolve issues for statements and non-approved invoices
- Provide support to accounting team during month-end close
- Prepare & reconcile AP billing reports
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years of related work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

- Communicate professionally, excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90%
- Occasionally, will move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to operate basic office machinery
- Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Must be able to move any files weighing up to 10 pounds
- Constantly working in office environment
