Primary Purpose of Position
Create a professional and positive environment for guests and employees by monitoring the Rod and Gun, ensuring that guides are performing to the best of their ability and guests receive the highest quality experience possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee guides and ensure that they are ready 30 minutes prior to their scheduled activity, including a clean vehicle, all gear is prepared and loaded, drinks are packed and the activity site is prepared (i.e. clean, fire started if necessary).
  • Greet guests with a welcome to The Rod and Gun, review each guest’s itinerary and adjust as necessary. This includes changing the schedule as it pertains to guides, and adjusting which guides take out which activity based off of their skills and abilities.
  • Locate guides and guests when they are needed or missing, inform guides of the guest’s arrival for an activity and introduce guest to respective guide.
  • Perform any legal documentation or protocol needed for guests to provide them with fishing and hunting licenses.
  • Provide tours of Rod and Gun when needed if Activities Director, Manager, and any front desk agents are busy
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid, Current Driver’s License
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and move continuously for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and nights.
  • Previous front desk experience.
  • Previous experience at the Rod & Gun

Assist individuals or groups to understand and appreciate the relationship of their role to the broader organization perspective. Develop visions of what might be, be enrolled and enroll others to accomplish that vision.
  • Initiative – Active efforts to influence events to achieve goals; self-starting rather than passive acceptance. Taking action to achieve goals beyond those called for; originating the action.
  • Listening – Ability to extract information in oral communication i.e. Did individual hear correctly or incorrectly? Did individual not follow instructions because of not listening correctly? Did individual actively assist in clarifying communication through questioning, restating what was heard, and eliciting further contextual understanding?
