The Opportunity


We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide primary administrative support to the Director and staff of Campus Activities. This position is responsible for coordinating high-level administrative support, triaging incoming information, organizing multiple calendars, providing event and meeting support, and using multiple forms of communication. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with other staff members and stakeholders within Campus and Community Engagement to help set priorities for administrative work, including the advancement and completion of specific projects, and establishing efficient office workflows.


As the first point of contact and the "face" of the office to all stakeholders, the Administrative Assistant will represent Campus Activities in a professional and service-oriented manner. Success in this role requires a commitment to diversity and inclusion, the ability to develop and build strong relationships with various stakeholders, including students, staff, community members, and administrators.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary administrative support to the Director and staff of Campus Activities
  • Coordinate high-level administrative support
  • Triage incoming information and organize multiple calendars
  • Provide event and meeting support
  • Work with other staff members and stakeholders to set priorities for administrative work
  • Represent Campus Activities in a professional and service-oriented manner

What We Need

  • Associate’s degree and 2+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically, proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom; ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (interpersonal, verbal, and written), diplomacy, and customer service skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work proactively
  • Flexibility with work hours, including occasional nights and weekends during pre-determined times of the academic year

If you have all those things, great! We have a few more things that we would prefer you to have, but it’s ok if you don’t.

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or more than 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in using online software programs and systems such as CampusGroups, SharePoint, Trello, Monday, AirTable
  • The ability to trouble-shoot and use creativity when addressing issues and seeking solutions.
  • Familiarity and/or interest in working with college-age populations.
