Summary
Assist in Adult Education classes in various locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Instructional Aide will assist in Adult Ed classes in various locations to check in students, assist students with application and enrollment. Monitor students in the classroom to ensure COVID protocols are being followed. Fluent Spanish speaker preferred, but not required. Hours will vary from day to evening depending on class times.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
The position requires a basic understanding of modern office practices, procedures and equipment, including record keeping techniques. Requires sufficient human relations skills to exercise patience and courtesy in dealing with customers and convey routine information.
Abilities
Requires the ability to keep basic records. Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis and to stand for prolonged periods of time. Requires sensitivity to the needs and behavior of students with various ethnic and cultural backgrounds and disabilities.
Physical Abilities
Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach on a regular basis. Requires hearing sufficient to be able to communicate and listen to students and instructors.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or the equivalent. A minimum of 6 months experience working with students or the public. Ability to read and write sufficiently to perform all of the duties of the position.
