Position: Advanced Practice Provider
Position Type: Full Time, 4.5 days a week
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM
Practice Location: Glencoe and Satellite Clinic Support

Position:
The Advanced Practice Provider promotes and maintains health by providing primary care medical services under the supervision of a sponsoring physician as regulated under their license and scope of practice. Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention engaging in the care of patients of all ages.
Patient Care Responsibilities:
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
  • Makes diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients’ acute illness.
  • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient EMR.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management.
  • Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval as required.
  • Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Demonstrated passion and ability to provide care to patients at the level of patient’s comprehension.
  • Outstanding organization skills and ability to multi-task. Excellent time management skills essential to this position.
  • Must exhibit initiative, creativity, problem-solving ability, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously and engage additional resources when out of scope of practice.
  • Ability to collaborate with professional colleagues as necessary to provide quality care.
  • Ability to consistently present a friendly, welcoming, and professional public-facing appearance.
Nurse Practitioner Professional Qualifications:
  • Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Candidate must have Minnesota APRN license and have certification as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner by a national agency recognized by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of one year of NP experience within the past four years in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting. Experience in Walk-In, Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine is preferred.
  • CPR/BLS certification. ACLS certification would be required if working in Urgent Care setting. PALS certification optional.
  • Must be eligible for or have current DEA registration.
Physician Assistant Professional Qualifications:
  • Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Candidate must have current Minnesota PA license.
  • Minimum of one year of PA experience within the past four years in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting. Experience in Walk-In, Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine is preferred.
  • CPR/BLS certification. ACLS certification would be required if working in Urgent Care setting. PALS certification optional.
  • Must be eligible for or have current DEA registration.
