Position Description:
Assemi Group is seeking a Senior Accountant II to aide in financial review, monitoring and accounting for of its various real estate and investment companies. Our Senior Accountants are responsible for accounting for and understanding all aspects of their assigned companies trial balances, researching to understand and account for various transactions and activities which may impact such companies, and partnering with various departments and individuals across the organization to ensure GAAP is appropriately applied, while balancing relevant business and tax objectives as applicable.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Research, understand, and account for transactions (e.g. purchases and sales of property) which impact your assigned companies.
  • Month-end/Quarter-end close activities including account reconciliations and maintenance of amortization and related supporting schedules.
  • Coordination with Treasury, Tax and other members of the Accounting department relating to activities involving/impacting your assigned companies.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting for use by internal and external stakeholders;
  • Assisting in the preparation of workpapers and other support associated with combined annual financial reporting.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field;
  • 2-4 years of increasing responsibilities in accounting;
  • Certified Public Accounting license (CPA) preferred,
  • Broad understanding of GAAP, both in rule and practical applications;
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
  • Technologically savvy and able to demonstrate competence in a variety of technological platforms and processes;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Work Environment:
This position operates mainly within professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee. The noise level in the work is low. The elements within the office are controlled by centralized heat and air conditioning.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full time at will position, and work hours are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as department needs demand.
Travel:
Travel is limited and primarily local during the business day.
