What You’ll Be Doing
Our Sales and Trading businesses include Capital Markets origination and syndication, Fixed Income and Currencies, Derivatives and Commodities. Our relationship management teams ensure that our clients have access to our product lines across the globe. This synergistic approach to coverage and our dedication to major accounts results in a dramatic, positive impact on our performance. Our Trading Floor is a major contributor to the overall success of CIBC Capital Markets and CIBC parent. Our Sales, Trading and Research colleagues provide us with diverse educational, professional and internal backgrounds including Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Programming, CA, CFA, MBA, Middle Office, Finance and Risk Management. These core competencies enable the group to effectively achieve its mandate to provide high quality products and services to our global clients.

How You’ll Succeed
The trading room environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring Analysts to effectively process information in the course of executing transactions in a constantly changing market environment. Successful candidates will need to adapt to these conditions with creativity, energy and an entrepreneurial spirit in order to meet the evolving demands of the marketplace.
Analysts will need to be effective communicators capable of building relationships both internally and with clients. As an Analyst, you will have the responsibility of providing detailed analytical, financial modeling, structuring, research and transaction support to senior professionals in your business, helping to win business and execute transactions.

You can demonstrate experience with:
  • Bachelor’s degree in subject such as Business, Economics, Mathematics, etc. with a graduation date no later than January 2023
  • 0-3 years of related experience in the Finance or Capital Markets sector
  • Strong academic background demonstrated through a high GPA and challenging coursework
  • Interest in financial markets, economics, and geopolitics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build relationships both internally and with clients
  • Desire to build a career in a Sales role
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Conduct and Culture Risk

  • Speaking up if witnessing behaviors that drive poor or unfair outcomes for clients, team members or other stakeholders
  • Escalating matters that can result in adverse market practices and outcomes, thereby negatively impacting CIBC’s reputation as a leading financial institution
The NYC salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
