The Danfoss Power Solutions organization is looking for our next Product Application Engineering Manager. The Product Application Engineering Manager is located in the USA and leads a global group of Product Application Engineers to support the Business Unit. The Product Application Engineering Manager is reporting into the Global Business Unit Sales Leader and is responsible for global quoting strategies, initiation and tracking of part activations, new business onboarding and driving initiatives improving the Quotation win rate. The Leader manages daily activities of product application engineers that review and own the customer specifications, determine customer's technical needs and recommend specific products/service solutions to meet those requirements. This includes regular interaction with the customer remotely and in person in order to ensure they have a positive experience from the product identification, quote process and the product implementation.

Job Responsibilities


Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.


  • Ensure efficient and accurate processing of customer Request for Quotes (RFQ) in all regions globally. Ensure the optimal core products, cost accuracy, and manufacturing strategies are quoted, offering the customer the best value-added solution.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate processing of new business wins into production and ready for purchase. Maintain close engagement with operations (during Part Activation of products and onboarding of new customers and coordinate the part activation processes regionally.
  • Ensure successful pursuit of key business opportunities improving the quantity of RFQ wins. Engaging with customers and internal Danfoss groups to determine successful business solutions and overcome challenges.
  • Develop an Application Engineering strategy both short-term and long-term that is in-line with the BU strategy. Implement the strategy creating a vision and a sense of purpose for each individual.
  • 10-20% domestic and international travel is required

Required (basic) qualifications


  • Bachelors degree in engineering or business required
  • 6+ years in Engineering and/or Business roles
  • 6+ years of experience in Fluid Conveyance products, Connectors product line preferred

Preferred qualifications


  • Masters degree in engineering or business administration preferred
  • IFPS Fluid Power Specialist certified
