Ascendo Resources is partnering with a technology group to hire an AS 400 COBOL programmer. In this role you will be working on financial services, building and modifying COBOL programs based on specifications. Candidates will work closely with testing teams as they perform functional testing and resolve any defects identified.

This is a long term contract role.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, bugs and other system defects related to the IBM I programs, applications, and interfaces
• Strong hands-on experience in IBM AS400 iSeries platform and COBOL/400 and CL programming development is must.; Develop programs in an IBM AS400 environment using COBOL/COPYBOOKS and CL programming.
• Experienced in Creating and debugging COBOL-400/CL and subfiles programs; Make code changes, getting necessary code review sign-offs, QA and UAT sign-offs
• Experienced in Creating PF, LF and Strong hands-on experience in DB2; Proficient with DB2 database and Structured Query Language (SQL).

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years' experience in AS/400 application development.
• 3-5 years of application development experience in COBOL, and CL
• 3-5 years of IBMi DB2/SQL experience.
• 5 years of working in a team environment

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $53.00 per hour
