As an Assistant Controller, you will collaborate with our business leaders across the organization to manage the progress of our business accounting maintenance, projections, and month-end close plans while monitoring for accuracy and efficiency. In this role, you will provide leadership and coaching to a dynamic team of hungry and humble team members in a fast-paced, trend-setting and ambiguous industry.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in a similar role, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant controller capacity, Tax experience is a plus!
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance
• Certified Public Accounting or equivalent certification required
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with financial reporting tools, ERP implementation, and G-Suite is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to think analytically and identify qualitative and quantitative trends and recommend appropriate actions
• Comfortable working on multiple projects at the same time, able to pivot quickly and build effective relationships across departments

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulations
• Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Manage and develop the accounting team to ensure they are up to date on best practices
• Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of monthly and annual closings of the general ledger and preparation of related financial statements
• Prepares required schedules for audit, tax and reporting as assigned and responds to inquiries as necessary
• Lead the coordination and preparation of financial audit activities conducted by external auditors, ensuring timely completion and adherence to audit requirements
• Act as an advisor to our brand leaders to help execute their team goals
• Provide guidance to the Finance Team regarding expense allocation and journal entries
• Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting and financial processes, systems, and procedures to optimize efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive management, to support business objectives and provide financial guidance

Our targeted compensation rate for this full-time and onsite position based in Culver City, California is between $130,000 and $175,000, depending on experience, expertise, internal equity within the organization, and alignment with market data.
