We currently have an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Assistant Controller for our Sherman Oaks campus. Duties include, but are not limited to:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Business required, minimum two years supervisory experience, working knowledge of computerized accounting, spreadsheets and word processing. Strong non-profit background preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for preparation of the monthly closing schedule for the department.

Responsible for the timely completion of assignments by the accounting staff.

Maintain and update the accounting software (MIP) as required.

Review monthly financial reports with variance analysis, revenue by program, statistical data.

Monitor recurring monthly journal entries.

Review monthly schedule of balance sheet accounts including capital expenditure and construction in-progress.

In charge of the preparation of compliance and cost reports and other government reporting requirements.

Responsible for the preparation of exempt organization annual tax returns.

In charge of the preparation of annual financial budget.

Review and approve the work of the accounting staff particularly MIP batches.

Assumes the role of Payroll Supervisor and Accounts Payable in his/her absence.

Responsible for preparation of any government and the agency wide audit schedules and requirements.

Responsible for special fiscal projects assigned by management and new grant proposal.

Understand the school and grant accounting functions.

Assumes the role of the Controller in her/his absence.

Provide assistance in the evaluation of current MIS resources and future needs.

Yearly Salary: 90,000.00 - 110,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
