- BA/BS with at least 8 years of experience or advanced degree with 6 years of experience
- Demonstrated track-record and proficiency working with Persons Excluded due to Ethnicity or Race (PEER) groups and underrepresented individuals
- Demonstrated experience with program development, implementation, and evaluation
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
- Managerial experience, to include staff supervision and budget management
- Familiarity with clinical or community-engaged and health equity research
Preferred Qualifications
- A doctoral degree
- Experience and demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, communities and organizations
- Demonstrated capacity for independent, proactive judgment and problem-solving while working in a collaborative environment as a team member and problem solver
- Experience in using technology for communication, information-gathering, program delivery and/or reporting. Advanced user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access & Powerpoint), and/or internet-based collaboration tools
- Experience working in an environment with multiple stakeholders and interests, managing multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Experience in group facilitation and making public presentations.
- Ability to vary schedule/hours worked per week on occasion
- Multilingual
- Experience in an academic research environment and/or with research projects
- Evidence of a strong community network
- Experience with grant-making processes
This professional and administrative staff position will assume major responsibility for:
- Finding, writing, and finalizing grant proposals and abstracts.
- Facilitation of future planning and budgetary needs for the CEEd Hub. (30%)
- Providing developmental oversight, administration and evaluation of the CEEd Hub programs and initiatives related to community engaged research, including staff direction and supervision. (25%)
- Facilitating high quality, accessible consultation to highlight best research practices and prepare colleagues and fellow organizations to provide more equitable, meaningful care and programming. (20%)
- Convening, facilitating and supporting MIDB and associated workgroups. (15%)
- Forging new relationships and sustaining existing partnerships with Community and University stakeholders. Developing and supporting research partnerships based on mutual respect, trust, shared power, and openness to different ways of knowing. (10%)
This dynamic role may include:
- Issuing collaborative pilot grants
- Offering consultation on community-engaged research
- Providing supervision for CEEd Hub staff
- Planning research poster sessions and educational events
- Contributing and support community-engaged research
- Partnering with engagement institutions nation-wide
- Helping to facilitate and support community-engagement, health equity, and research
Program Support
- Work collaboratively with the Director and all other stakeholders to ensure programming is meeting the desired outcomes and goals
- Maintain methods of outcome measurement and program evaluation tools to inform current and future programs
- Develop and execute new and innovative virtual options for engagement that enhance student engagement
Grants
- Working with the University of Minnesota Foundation to network and communicate with local granting organizations to secure funding for future CEEd Hub programming
- Writing, editing, and developing grants related to education, research, engagement, and community development
- Searching and building timelines for grant applications
Personnel Support
- Leading weekly CEEd Hub meetings
- Engaging with and building relationships with other MIDB Hubs
- Monitor attainment of objectives
- Support and management of existing and future staff with weekly one on one meetings and evaluation
- Identify appropriate faculty co-interviewer, and interviewing future staff
