Job Purpose
Responsible for assisting the Director of Finance perform all duties assigned, generally involving high level tasks such as month-end closing, general ledger and bank account reconciliation, forecasting, and creating special reports for the hotel and ownership.
Essential Functions
  • Supervise all daily accounting operations including training and management of staff in areas of Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Accounts Payable, General Cashier, Staff Accountant, and Accounting Manager, or other positions as designated from time to time.
  • Prepare process documentation for the positions supervised, and maintain work flow to ensure completion of tasks according to required schedules in each discipline.
  • Serve as alternate functionary in each accounting discipline for PTO coverage or other times when a position is temporarily vacant.
  • Responsible for preparing journal entries, perform analysis, and any corrections required to complete the financial closing process accurately and timely. Produce a full set of financial reports including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheet and other required supporting schedules for each prescribed period.
  • Perform and maintain reconciliations of all general ledger accounts including the Balance Sheet. Identify and correct errors and omissions on a routine monthly basis or as prescribed by business requirements. Primary responsibility for all bank reconciliations including cash and credit card deposit tracking and reconciliation.
Requirements
At least 3 years experience in hotel financial positions.
At least 2 years supervisory experience.
