Job description
We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven assistant general manager to assist in directing and managing our restaurant and staff. Duties for the Assistant General Manager will include coordinating business operations, monitoring and motivating staff, managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving administration processes, engaging with vendors, hiring and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities. The Assistant General Manager will aid the General Manager and Chef in all aspects of restaurant operations, be in charge when the manager is away, communicate standards of operations to all staff members and build a culture of excellence and authentic hospitality for both staff members and guests.
The successful candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of restaurant operations, and strong leadership qualities.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily business operations.
- Developing and implementing growth strategies.
- Training staff.
- Improving revenue.
- Hiring employees.
- Evaluating performance and productivity.
- Generating reports
- Maintains updated training materials.
- Schedules Staff education programming- as in wine tasting, menu training.
- Service Staff Scheduling.
- Prepare Daily Sales Reports.
- Ensure opening and closing duties are completed.
- Work with other management personnel to plan marketing, advertising, and any special
restaurant functions. (social media- communicate with marketing & social managers
- Perform Service staff evaluations as needed.
- Financials: bank runs for deposits and cash as necessary, balancing checkbook/recording checks
- Tasks and projects delegated by GM.
- Ensure positive guest service in all areas, respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
- Assist expediting food to guests.
- Delegate tasks to FOH staff.
- Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, and federal/state/local laws.
- Check punches and edit for accuracy.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Manage staff side work.
- Attend weekly meetings.
- Update POS with menu changes.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Two Years of managerial experience or two years with Holly Hill Restaurant group in supporting roles
- Good computer skills: Google Documents, basic graphics, Homebase and familiarity with POS systems and reports; primarily TOAST
- Hospitality Degree is a plus
- Food Service Manager certification or Serve Safe
- Responsible Alcohol service Training
