Job Summary
The History program at the University of West Georgia invites applications for an Assistant or Associate rank tenure-track appointment beginning August 1, 2022. The faculty position will direct an established public history and museum studies program, teach graduate and undergraduate courses in public history, and serve on graduate committees. The Position also serves as the Director of our award-winning Center for Public History, which includes the oversight, development and management of the Center’s public history projects, grants, the supervision of graduate and undergraduate student staff, and engaging with local and regional communities and public history agencies.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- A Ph.D. in History, American Studies, or related field is required
Experience Requirements:
- Public History work experience is required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and training in museum studies is preferred. Additional expertise in fields such as material culture, digital history, oral history, folklife, archives, or preservation would also be welcomed.
Proposed Salary
$52,000-$64,000 per year
