The Registrar’s Office is the heart of academic affairs at the OU College of Law. The Assistant to the Registrar will be an integral part of the daytoday operations of the law school. Reporting directly to the Registrar, this position will maintain JD student records, support the COL’s studentcentered climate, unify, and create more efficient processes, and provide a bridge from this office to the rest of the OU Law family. The Assistant to the Registrar will work closely with the Registrar on enrollment, study abroad, graduation, finals administration, graduation and bar exam certification, scholarships, reports, website updates, and student processes. This position will provide the opportunity and time for the Registrar’s Office to be forward thinking, proactive, and strategic, as we grow and adapt to the everchanging landscape of legal education.

The Assistant Registrar will assist with any of the following:

  • Assisting with exam administration
  • Updating the relevant website pages
  • Drafting of letters, scanning, and other clerical duties
  • Organization and digitalization of files
  • Tracking student completion of various items
  • Compilation of data from multiple sources for reports
  • Processing scholarship data and payouts
  • Enrollment overrides, transcript requests, etc.
  • Convocation book and assisting at Graduation
  • Coordinating study abroad programs
Job Requirements


Required Education:
Bachelor's degree

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Detailoriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with student, faculty, and staff
  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Comfort with data and numbers
  • Demonstrated experience in a collaborative environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • General office skills: drafting letters, scanning, multiline phones, faxing, and mail.

Certifications:

  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

Frequent exposure to interruptions. Ability to crouch, pull, push, reach, move, an engage in repetitive motions. Communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others, and See, including color, depth perception, and clarity

Department Preferences:

  • Student Services experience
  • Design, process improvement, or project management experience.
  • Administrative assistant experience.
