Associate Project Manager (APM)

Overview

The APM will provide support for the Studio Operations International Post team, specifically the Banner Lead and Manager/Sr Manager. This role will plan, deliver and trouble shoot issues related to Theatrical and Disney+ Original titles. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with a passion for entertainment. Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and track localized assets to ensure they deliver to plan; trouble shoot as necessary

  • Create, maintain and assess feasibility of all content deliveries to support theatrical, streaming and other downstream windows

  • Manage content, in terms of version control, creative instructions and editorial work for censorship

  • Monitor milestones, partner/client due dates, and maintain clear communication between distribution teams, vendors and other internal partners

  • Identify and initiate escalation protocols for at-risk items

  • Ensure content follows an appropriate quality assurance process by building time in the plan for QC, fielding QC report questions and complete research, as needed

  • Oversee work order entries to vendors

  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery priorities

  • Provide feedback and root cause analysis to assess process improvement opportunities

  • Utilize a wide array of managing software programs, including, Smartsheets, Google trackers, Microsoft Project, and various Disney-owned systems

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong Project Management and Reporting skills

  • Proficient in using applications such as Microsoft Office, G-Suite applications and Microsoft Project

  • Excellent communication skills - able to establish working relationships with a variety of diverse people across many teams and disciplines

  • Great organizational and time management skills

  • Able to prioritize and execute against multiple titles and deadlines at one time

  • Highly adaptable to change; nimble in accommodating changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • An understanding of color grading, color spaces, aspect ratios from a QC perspective

  • 3 or more years of experience in media-related businesses (theatrical, home entertainment, streaming, etc.).

  • Familiarity with digital workflows with an understanding of developing technologies including IMF workflows, Interoperable Master Packages (IMP), ProRes master files and downstream deliverables in HDR and SDR color spaces and related HDR metadata.

  • Understanding of digital cinema mastering including composition play lists, censor edits, component management.

  • Familiarity with localization including various assets such as subtitles, captions, dub credits and how they all work together to create a user experience.

  • Understanding of communication styles and approaches for various level of management

  • Ability to facilitate meetings with internal teams and vendors

  • Strong sense of curiosity in approaches to solving complex problems

  • Gifted at understanding the priorities of complex business decisions
