Wilson Sonsini is seeking a full-time Attorney Recruiting Marketing Manager for an exciting role that will have responsibility for leading programs that raise the firm’s visibility with potential employees, while helping develop marketing strategies for sourcing, attracting and hiring highly-talented and diverse attorneys. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have a deep knowledge of the attorney recruiting ecosystem, and have the ability to work independently to promote our brand to entry-level and lateral candidates. We seek candidates who will work collaboratively with a team, while also handling individual responsibilities and adapting to rapidly changing priorities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work closely with the Law School and Lateral Recruiting leadership team to develop internal and external marketing plans for the Attorney Recruiting Department.
- Develop strategies and implement tactics and programs that raise the firm’s internal and external visibility through recruiting events, sponsorships, public relations and all online and social media platforms.
- Draft and direct the development of printed and digital attorney recruiting collateral, including but not limited to the NALP form, Chambers and Firsthand (formerly Vault) submissions.
- Develop and maintain innovative, current and engaging content and design for dedicated careers digital properties.
- Develop strategic and proactive internal and external communications that focus on strengthening our unique brand in the careers, marketplace.
- Partner with all functional groups in the Marketing Department and other administrative groups to plan and execute the Attorney Recruiting Team’s key visibility initiatives.
- Partner with the Diversity and Inclusion team to advance Firm’s diversity hiring strategies and initiatives.
- Maintain strategic relationships with Career Services professionals, search firms, law school student groups, affinity groups and other educational institutions to advance the Firm’s recruiting strategies.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of five years of professional recruiting experience in a law firm is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in marketing communications is a plus.
- Knowledge of the attorney recruiting process and legal employment issues.
- Ability to understand unconscious bias and its effect on recruiting and hiring.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills are required, as is attention to detail and the ability to complete important content-related tasks on short notice.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects and meet established deadlines is required, as is the ability to manage confidential information and sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Capabilities in strategic planning and tactical execution, both of which are required in the role.
- Advanced understanding of and demonstrable experience with social media and online marketing and analytics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with all levels of firm personnel as well as external clients, including search firms and vendors.
- Superior analytical, attention to detail, planning and organizational skills.
- Highly motivated and creative with the ability to make sound business decisions.
