Counter Salespeople are the backbone of our business, delivering excellent customer service and knowledge to our long standing customers. Primary responsibilities include: Customer focus and high energy in our fast-paced stores Ability to operate a cash register and navigating computer and paper catalog systems Passion for delivering customer care in a strong team environment Answer phones, computer orders, and wait on walk in customers Check in freight & put away parts Handle cores, defective, and new product returns from customers Bring any issues to the store manager immediately Keep sales area and stockroom clean and refreshed Count cash drawer at beginning and end of shift Fill in on parts deliveries if needed Provide exceptional customer service to all store customers Assist both retail and wholesale customers with their auto parts questions and needs, either in person, via the telephone, or through online ordering Handle cash, credit card, and other purchasing transactions Operate the store point of sale system (TAMS) to search for parts and customer accounts, and to invoice and pull orders Pull and prepare inventory orders for customer pick up or delivery Operate the electronic and paper cataloging system to retrieve up to date parts information Effectively communicate features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude as well as professional conduct and appearance at all times. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Motivated to train and learn. Ability to thrive and have fun in a busy, fast-paced retail environment. Minimum 18 years of age. Valid driver license AND/OR reliable transportation. Pre-employment drug screen and background check. Prior experience in the retail industry, preferably an automotive parts department, dealership, jobber or retail establishment. High school diploma or GED. Able to work retail hours including weekends and holidays. Able to process cash, checks, and credit card transactions. Capable of lifting and moving items of up to 45 pounds. ASE P2 Certification or ability to certify within approprite time period Additional Information We are looking to hire an EXPERIENCED parts professional for a full time position. Customer service skills are a must. Extensive On-Line Training available and encouraged upon employment. Hours and days vary; weekends are a must. ASE P2 certified is a plus, but not required. Ability to stand for entire scheduled shift, lift or move packages weighing 45+ lbs Automotive knowledge is a must, NAPA sets themselves apart by hiring parts professionals and not just a cashier to assist with customer questions.
