The position:
AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Back-End Web-Application Developer to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Programmer.

Program Information: :
The Modeling & Simulation Enterprise Applications (MSEA) product suite supports modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. All products are government owned, developed and managed. The Architecture Management Integration Environment (AMIE) is a cross-platform middleware that provides an interface abstraction, collection of libraries, and a set of tools that promote reusability of direct interface protocol implementations.

A typical day as a Junior Back-End Web-Application Developer: may include:
- You will be developing software for an advanced synthetic training environment. This software is integrated into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats.
- You will support software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations.
Must-haves:
- Education: BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Degrees in Aerospace, Computer, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Physics may qualify with at least 1 year of C++ experience.
- Experience with database management systems (Postgresql, SQLite), and integration with web application front-ends
- Experience with Django web framework and extensions (e.g. DRF)
- Experience integrating web applications and DBMS using Django
- Experience designing and normalizing database schemas
- Experience with web server security, to include encryption, authentication and authorization
- Ability to identify requirements, then allocate them to products in a system
- Ability to balance tradeoffs between technical capability and DoD security
- Experience designing and optimizing for performance in near-real-time systems
- Applying good judgement in decision making and communication
- Communicates well with technical management, program management
- Must be able to obtain DoD Secret security clearance
Desired, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience with DoD STIGs, SCAP, SCC
- Understanding of purpose of and direct experience with web infrastructure, to include reverse proxies (Nginx, Traffik), Web Application Firewalls, Identity Providers (Keycloak), and Public Key Infrastructure
- Experience connecting backend data to other web and system applications (e.g. REST APIs, Google proto-buffers)
- Experience with CI/CD environments, to include test, containerization and connection to production
- Knowledge of DoD mission, specifically military aviation, or equivalently, the ability to learn quickly.
