The Behavioral Rehabilitation Assistant will provide direct care and one to one supervision of patients admitted to the inpatient unit, following department guidelines and written treatment protocols.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the implementation of the patient’s daily schedule of therapeutic activities with the
attention to patient safety and level of adaptive skills.
2. Intervene as needed according to behavioral training and protocols to maintain safety of
patients and/or others. Use safe handling and physical management procedures.
3. Be with patients at all times, including therapy sessions and/or therapy center times.
4. Assist in the implementation of protocols following instruction as incorporated into
ambulation, feeding, positioning, toileting, splinting, etc.
5. Provide assistance and/or 1:1 interaction with the patient upon request from the primary
therapist during therapy times and/or therapy center times.
6. Assist in the assessment of adaptive, leisure and self-help skills, potential reinforcers and
problem behaviors.
7. Assist in the implementation of skill training programs incorporated into the patient’s daily
schedule of activities.
8. Review and implement behavior management protocols on a daily basis; provide daily record of patient care activities; collect accurate data on specified behavior.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least six months experience working with developmentally disabled individuals with behavior problems is preferred.
