About the team.

The Intensive In-Home Team provides therapeutic interventions and behavioral coaching for youth ages 6 to 17 years and their families. We offer family-focused therapy in the home for children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral health challenges. Our goal is to reduce the likelihood of out-of-home placement for youth who may be at risk of hospitalization or other community placements because of their mental health, as well as those transitioning to homes from higher levels of care, such as inpatient treatment or residential care.


Salary for this role
(based on experience and company equity):

  • $18.89 - $28.33 hourly


Bilingual Language Differential Pay.
*rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency.

  • 5% of base salary up to a maximum of $3,000/year


About the role.

The BHS partners with an in-home therapist by reinforcing skills and behaviors practiced with the therapist. The BHS connects the child and family with desired, community-based services and resources. The BHS also enhances caregiver and client executive skills such as managing time, focusing attention, regulating emotions, and reflecting on progress. In addition, Behavioral Health Specialists are responsible for: waitlist outreach, behavioral health screens, post-hospital assessments, safety plans, bridge care, case management, and crisis intervention. We offer a hybrid work model where the BHS will work directly in client homes, in our office/outpatient setting, and remote (conveniently in your own home!).


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a daily safe therapeutic environment.
  • Support teachers in the classroom and provide individual and small group academic support to students.
  • Ensure accommodations and modification are implemented.
  • Plan, prepare, and instruct gym classes.
  • Implement lower level of intervention.
  • Safely and appropriately engage in physical restraints as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of therapeutic groups.
  • Implement individualized student behavioral plans.
  • Provide case management services to students.
  • Develop and facilitate formal and informal skill-building opportunities for students.
  • Clearly and rationally examine complex situations.
  • Prepare and create engaging methods of blending therapeutic and academic goals.
  • Manage the milieu and create a change of plan if needed.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely and comprehensive manner to establish accurate educational and clinical records.
  • Accurately collect and document student data.
  • Communicate daily reports to parents and caregivers.
  • Communicate ongoing reports with parents, families, and team members as needed.
  • Perform QMAP duties (create and maintain client charts, disperse and document medication, communicate medical needs to appropriate personnel.)
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, staff training programs, supervisory sessions, and accepts the responsibility for aiding the development of positive team relationships as requested.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual-relationships, and professional stature.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred: Previous experience with students; experience in a clinical setting (residential, day treatment, in-home services.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of students and families with diverse needs and interests.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students and families.
  • Ability to organize, to prioritize, to work independently and to be self-directed.
  • Ability to establish and to maintain a positive rapport with students, families, district personnel and student team members.
  • Knowledge of school policies and procedures in working with students with disabilities; maintain confidentiality.


Required Vaccinations and TB Test.

AuMHC has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for either COVID 19 vaccine or annual flu shot.
