The Position:
We are seeking a full-time Behavioral Services Supervisor for our Behavioral Services program in our San Fernando Valley location. The Behavioral Services Supervisor is responsible for assisting Mental Health Specialists, clients, and caretakers in the client’s goal achievement, implementation of behavior and treatment plans, supervising therapeutic interventions when a client is experiencing behavioral and emotional difficulties and regular assessment and documentation of these services.
What You’ll Do
- Within the Mental Health Behavior Support Services Team, Behavioral Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Mental Health Specialist in providing behaviorally-based services, under TBS, IHBS and other specialty behavioral mental health services.
- Responsible for supervising the Mental Health Specialist in implementing the client’s individual treatment plans in the home, school and/or community-based settings.
- Provides the Mental Health Specialist with individual supervision on use of behavioral interventions, strategies and techniques.
- Facilitates initial and monthly treatment team meetings with the Mental Health Specialist, client and family, and referring therapist. Responsible for on-going collaboration with current mental health providers, and school and community partners throughout the course of treatment.
- Responsible for completing documentation, including Client Care Coordination Plans, Supplemental Assessments, Functional Analysis of Behavior assessments, and progress notes, in adherence with Department of Mental Health documentation guidelines.
- Facilitates weekly Group Supervision in Behavioral Services Program Manager’s absence.
- Provides preceptor responsibilities to MSW Interns, including individual supervision and review of process recordings.
- Carries a reduced caseload.
- Maintains positive and professional relationships with MHBSS team members, clients, families, current mental providers and others community partners.
- Drives own vehicle to transport clients, visits clients, and to attend team or consultation meetings. Must have a valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Hours: Full-time (40 hours), varies based on the needs of the center and clients
- Hybrid work options are available.
- Starting Salary: $68,000 - $77,500 (additional years of successful related experience will be considered as well)
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- Relevant work and/or intern experience providing direct mental health services to children and adolescents.
- Must be able to work in a warm and supportive manner with children who have behavioral, social, and emotional difficulties.
- Must be able to work with interdisciplinary teams, form and maintain professional relationships, and represent the Center in a professional and positive manner at internal and outside meetings.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to get along with others in a courteous and respectful manner. Must be able to work as a team play, in a teamwork environment.
- Must be able to accept and utilize supervision from clinical staff and apply feedback to improve performance and monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ph.D., Psy.D., MSW, or MA/MS with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure with the Board of Psychology or Board of Behavioral Sciences.
