Florida State Hospital Civil Units seek people with a Master's Degree earned in psychology, counseling, or closely related professional field to provide psychological assessment, forensic assessment services (IST/ITP, NGI), consultation to multidisciplinary teams, group and individual psychotherapy and psychoeducation to adults in a large state mental health facility operated under a Recovery model. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are welcomed, as this facility serves adult men and women of different demographic and life backgrounds who are committed under criminal and civil statutes for a variety of mental health concerns, generally issues that are severe and persisting. Proficiency with different languages, such as ASL, is also desirable.

Applicants selected for hire will be required to submit before hire an official transcript showing the attainment of a master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology or very closely related mental health profession.
All employees of state mental health treatment facilities are required to wear face masks and appropriate protective equipment as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In addition, staff will be required to complete COVID-19 testing prior to hire and routinely during employment.
