About the role:
As a Patient Benefits Specialist (PBS) for Accompany Health you will be:
- Helping patients understand and get the most out of their health plan benefits, thus enabling them to live happier, healthier lives.
- Supporting our organizational success metrics by improving patient retention rates within your market.
- An early member of a rockstar team defining the future of in-home value based care for populations with complex healthcare needs.
Responsibilities will include:
- Educating patients on Medicare, Medicaid, and health plan benefits.
- Improving overall patient retention rates in the market.
- Helping patients with the Medicaid recertification process.
- Following up with patients who lose eligibility for their health plan and/or Medicaid to help them regain that eligibility where possible.
- Troubleshooting patient eligibility issues.
- Ensuring patient eligibility is checked before all patient visits.
- Answering all benefits- and eligibility-related questions from patients.
- Other duties as assigned.

Desired skills and experience:
- Required
- At least 2 years of patient-facing experience in a healthcare setting
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and health plans
- Comfortable with monthly performance targets
- Ability to quickly build trust with patients
- Strong communication skills, and a flexible and positive attitude
- Strong computer skills and basic knowledge of G-Suite (e.g., Google Docs)
- US work authorization
- Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience with athenahealth and OneSource
