Basic function and scope of responsibilities
The Benefits Analyst participates in the development, implementation, communication, and administration of the company’s employee benefits programs. Assists with establishing company objectives pertinent to benefits programs by monitoring trends, evaluating competitiveness, and analyzing costs. Responsible for the effective interpretation and communication of benefit plans, policies, and programs across the company to ensure positive employee reaction and understanding. Works with various external vendors to ensure proper administration and control of plans.
Principal Responsibilities and essential functions
- Analyzes existing benefits policies of organization, and prevailing practices among similar organizations, to establish competitive benefits programs.
- Prepares and distributes written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits programs
- Helps to ensure compliance of employee benefits programs with all legal requirements.
- Run and analyze reports to audit HRIS enrollment information to ensure data integrity.
- Work with Payroll and HRIS to ensure proper benefit deduction or adjustments are taken.
- Assist with preparation of required State and Federal reports.
- Coordinates the administration of employee benefits programs, such as basic and major medical coverage, dental insurance, group life insurance, and leave of absences.
- Maintains benefits records and documents necessary for implementing benefits coverage.
- Evaluate and recommend health and wellness initiatives in support of organizational goals.
Education and Licensing requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Equivalent
- 5-10 years Benefit Administration Experience
- Experience with self-funded medical plans
- Experience with Oracle or similar HRIS platform.
- Highly Analytical with Proficiency in Excel
- Strong Written and Oral communication
- Effective time management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
