We are seeking a Benefits Consultant to help us support APL's health and welfare plans. This position is an 18 month term assignment. As a member of APL 's Talent Services team you 'll contribute to our core purpose to build community, ignite talent and partner to enable defining innovations.
As a Benefits Consultant you will...
- Assist with vendor relationship management by developing positive working relationships through actively participating in regular meetings to resolve issues, conducting review of vendor performance, discussing upcoming vendor initiatives and identifying opportunities for administration improvements to APL benefits.
- Provide support to the annual open enrollment project team. Partner with project team members on renewal process, preparation of communication materials, and educating staff and team members on plan details. Assist with other benefit projects as needed or assigned.
- Assist with benefits-focused communications, such as the staff benefits guide/summary plan description and website.
- Become knowledgeable of APL plan documents and provisions to provide guidance to team members in support of customer service issues.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a Bachelor 's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional work experience in Benefits field.
- Are strong in benefit administration and current regulatory requirements.
- Are proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Have strong analytical skills and shown ability to tackle complex problems.
- Have demonstrated ability to multi-task and plan/prioritize work while meeting tight and competing deadlines.
- Have excellent communication and organization skills.
- Are experienced in building relationships with vendors, setting performance expectations and monitoring vendor performance.
- Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
