Benefits-Human Resources Assistant
Job description
The Benefits/Human Resources assistant is responsible for assisting with the administration of employee
benefits as well as HR data changes in the HR software.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures the accuracy of data entry into HR database and processes personnel changes.
- Review/approve benefits enrollments in the Benefits software to provide accurate eligibility information.
- Assists with new-hire orientations and provide benefits overview.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits issues and plan changes.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Onboarding employee for monthly benefits eligibility and process life status changes.
- Responds to benefits inquiries on benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Assist with disability paperwork for employee medical leaves.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from physicians, managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
- Assists with the open enrollment process.
- Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Familiar with Google products (email; drives; sheets)
- Must have 2 years of successful Human Resources experience performing similar tasks
- Must have 1 years of experience preparing and processing benefits invoices
- Basic understanding of federal HR employment laws
- Accurate data entry and good math skills
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, online databases, and email
- Experience with Proliant, Employee Navigator and Paylocity a plus
- Associate Degree or some college preferred; PHR or HR certification a plus
