Your Day.

As a BSII you need to know how to:

• Prepare daily claims for submission to clearinghouse or paper submission
• Review claims for errors and work daily insurance rejections for corrected submission
• File appeals in a timely manner in compliance with contract limitations and ensure timely filing
• Manage payer correspondence and supply requested information
• Assist in customer service support telephone rotation, helping to resolve patient issues or directing patients to the proper specialist
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings assigned by supervisor
• Understand and maintain confidentiality of protected health information
• Perform other duties as assigned which may include assisting other team members with billing office functions

Your experience.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with medical billing, medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding
• Working knowledge of insurance rules and regulations
• Computer experience
• 10-key experience
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals and collections
• Strong customer service skills for interacting with patients and insurers
• Ability to maintain a professional manner under busy and stressful circumstances
• Ability work independently as well as in a team environment. Able to triage priorities and handle conflict in a reasonable fashion.
