We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Laboratory Technician position in the Process Innovation group within the Technology organization at Longview, TX.

Innovation Technicians are expected to take the lead in safety and housekeeping. Additionally, Innovation Technicians need to be self-starters, work independently, and have good personal organization skills to be successful. Flexibility is a must in this distinctly innovative environment. Candidates should have a positive social attitude and like to work in a team.

Job Expectations

• Conduct technical experiments (lab and pilot scale).
• Lead and participate on multi-disciplinary teams.
• Develop hands-on and in-depth technical expertise.
• Develop , install, operate, maintain, and trouble-shoot test equipment.
• Work in a fast paced, results-oriented team environment to assist in developing new technologies.
• Support new or established technologies for commercial products:
  • New synthetic methodologies
  • Scale-up demonstrations
  • Model separations (distillation, membrane, etc…)
  • Analytical measurements
  • Developing new applications for products
• Document experimental work and write technical and invention reports.
• Work safely and promote a safe work environment.

Qualifications Required:

• Highschool diploma or GED
• Candidates must have at least an AA/AAS degree in Chemistry or B.S. in physical science

• Problem solving, math and science skills, and familiarity with statistical methodology.
• Initiative and the ability to work in a team setting.
• Clear and effective written and oral communication is essential.
• General computer experience with relevant and Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Qualifications Preferred:

• 4 year Degree in Chemistry is preferred.
• Formal training in general laboratory procedures is a plus.
