Building Custodian/Laborer
$20.14 - $24.17 per hour

The City of Attleboro seeks a Building Custodian /Laborer for the Attleboro Public Library to perform custodial and minor repair tasks in maintaining department buildings and surrounding grounds in a clean orderly fashion.

Duties include sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, buffs floors, and removes trash. Cleans, washes windows, woodwork, walls, wainscoting, lavatories, drinking fountains, toilet facilities, dusts in common areas. Checks and restocks bathroom supplies. Hangs pictures, moves books, supplies, and equipment. Assists in setting up furniture and equipment in rooms for meetings. Runs errands, distributes mail and deliveries. Removes snow from sidewalk and other areas. Participates in snow and ice program.

Requires working knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment ordinarily employed in maintaining the clean and orderly condition of municipal buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and two years in property maintenance and janitorial work or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid driver’s license required.
