JOB
This is an Emergency / Essential Position. This is skilled and supervisory work in several building maintenance and construction trades including semi-skilled maintenance and repair work in the structural, mechanical or electrical trades. An employee in this class has responsibility for planning, supervising and participating in a building maintenance program, a specific phase of a large program, or acts as an assistant to a maintenance manager in a general maintenance program. Work involves the supervision of various journey level trades employees and sub-journey level helpers engaged in a variety of building maintenance tasks. An employee exercises considerable judgment within the scope of assignments and receives general oral instructions or written job orders from a Facility Maintenance Manager or other administrative supervisor. Work is subject to review through inspection of results or by the analysis of reports.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Two (2) years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 2 or four (4) years of experience in building and plant maintenance work with a focus on the Carpentry, Masonry, Roofing and Painting trades.An equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Two years managing/directing staff of 2 or more people.ORAn equivalent combination of experience and training.AND Valid drivers LicenseProficient computer skills with email, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and other common office software products

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Prior work experience in the maintenance and repair field in a higher education environment or a facility setting.Active carpentry Journeyman’s license.Prior contractor level trades experience. Value Added: History of continued education or trades/technical course training.Handheld computer skills experience
