The Northbrook Park District is looking for Building Supervisors to provide support and assistance to ensure the efficient operation of the daily activities at our recreation facility.

Building Supervisors provide front desk/customer service support, address participant concerns and assist with facility programming. This position provides guidance when other facility leadership may not be readily available.

Duties & Responsibilities*

• Enforce rules, regulations and policies at assigned facility.
• Assist with program and facility oversight as needed by Supervisor.
• Conduct facility walk throughs to maintain safety and security.
• Help with room set-ups and breakdowns; proactively ensure rooms are clean and set-up properly before an activity is scheduled to begin.
• Provide exceptional customer service by fielding member and participant suggestions, concerns and complaints in a positive and understanding manner; provide follow-up and resolution as required.
• Provide front desk and customer service support.
• Operate equipment such as scoreboards, sound systems and projector; troubleshoot issues with equipment as needed.
• Monitor the use of the facility based on the facility schedule; may conduct opening and/or closing of the building in accordance with procedures; ensure building is set up and ready for operation.
• Perform light cleaning.
• Act as a liaison to management staff when manager is not on duty.
• Report any work-related or patron injuries or incidents to supervisor and/or Risk Management

Job Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older. Completion of four (4) years of high school or equivalent including a general familiarity of customer service is required. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, problem solve and actively listen. The ability to work independently and effectively is necessary. Must have a CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within one (1) month of hire. Knowledge of software applications, such as for program registration may be required.

Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment. Specific vision abilities are required and include close vision and ability to adjust focus. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
