JBAndrews is currently partnered with a multi-billion-dollar global provider of freight forwarding as they look to appoint a well-versed Business Development executive to target aggressive growth across their Northeast Region. The position is ideally based in Philadelphia but the business is open to other locations across the Northeast.
The role:
- The position is a pure “hunter” role where you will be focused on selling freight forwarding services.
- The organization are incredibly commercially focussed, so require someone with excellent business development skills who can sell freight of all kind.
- You would be responsible for “hunting” across the Northeast if you have a pipeline or contacts in this area it would be preferred.
- The company are a fast growing and aggressive organization, it is imperative a candidate shares the same mentality as they need to be open to grow with the company.
- The candidate must hold excellent customer service abilities and be able communicate complicated technical issues.
- The capability to present and negotiate business to get it over the line is a necessity.
- The successful candidate has to be self-motivated and flexible to work with little supervision, so the ability to work independent is paramount
- They must be able to work flexible hours, willing to travel on a frequent basis including weekends or holidays
Qualifications/Competencies:
- 3 years’ experience in International Freight Forwarding
- 3+ years solid experience in selling air cargo
- Superior written and verbal communication skills in official language
- Must be able to provide first-rate customer service, communicate complicated technical issues, excellent presentation skills, strong negotiation skills to close the business
- Strong business and ethical acumen, an ability to understand and follow the established procedures. Experience in ISO and SOP would be preferred
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and flexible to work with negligible supervision, able to work flexible hours, willing to travel on a frequent basis including weekends or holidays
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team environment
- Able to handle pressure and tight deadlines
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in sales and marketing related field is preferred
