The Business Development Representative position is responsible for establishing contact with and identifying new dealership partners, growing existing business, staying aware of market and competitive trends, and following up on new business opportunities.
This person should possess outstanding sales experience, honed customer service skills and a passion for to drive growth across a variety of recreation dealership settings. We value representatives who are passionate about growing our existing business while proactively pursuing new opportunities. We expect this person to effectively identify roadblocks and challenges and formulate solutions to overcome and win in the market.
Essential Functions:
- Identifies and establishes contact with potential new recreation dealership customers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with existing dealership partners.
- Attends industry trade shows to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing partners.
- Follows industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales.
- Recommends marketing strategies to target a specific region or demographic.
- Gathers qualitative market intelligence through daily interactions across the industry. This includes gathering and reporting competitive intelligence.
- Proposes program and product enhancements to improve value proposition and differentiation in the market.
- Trains new dealerships and finance managers on the Bank’s lending programs and processes.
- Generates and submit activity and business development reports to management.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
- Compliance with Laws & Regulations:
- Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
- Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.
Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree in finance, marketing, business management, or communications required, or four (4) years of equivalent broad experience accepted in lieu of required degree.
- Two (2) years’ experience in consumer lending or financial services preferred.
Summary of Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working experience with in-person and remote sales techniques
- Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
- Proven ability to work remotely and communicate clearly with leadership and headquarter management team
- Experience with CRM software reporting and utilization
- Ability to work effectively under pressure. Skilled at handling a variety of assignments simultaneously. Flexibility, ability, and willingness to work at a rapid pace in strict time frames.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; presents ideas in a clear, concise, understandable, and organized manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and nurture strong relationships across a variety or business settings and communication styles.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret data and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently from a remote location, but eager to collaborate and share information with business counterparts and business development team.
Travel Requirements:
- Requires travel to company, partner, or vendor locations for various job duties (50% of time).
