Job description
Title of Position: Business Development Representative
Reports To: Marketing Director
Essential Function:
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities. This will involve every step of the sales cycle from developing target lists, prospecting and delivering sales presentations with the intention of winning new business. This role will be mostly office based but will require in-person meetings and prospecting from time to time. The candidate should be comfortable with presenting to prospects both virtually and in person. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for learning multiple product lines and will need to be able to understand how to apply those offerings to specific client types.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, and referrals
- Take marketing qualified leads and convert them into sales through effective communication and relationship building
- Attend various in person events, exhibit booths and conferences for networking and sales opportunities
- Make in person calls to certain prospects in specified geographies
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals
- Perform discovery and needs assessment calls with prospects
- Collaborate with various departments to put meaningful proposals in front of clients
- Manage the sales pipeline and provide regular updates to management and utilize the CRM
- Negotiate and close deals with clients
- Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the curve
Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand complex business needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software applications
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
- Willingness to travel as needed
Compensation: based on experience and a variable compensation package
