Pay Structure: Flat rate based on review complexity

Position Overview 

CN Resource is seeking a Child Nutrition Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to function within the Child and Adult Food Care Program. The Child Nutrition Quality Assurance Specialist will oversee the completion of quality assurance reviews of completed Administrative Reviews for several different state agencies throughout the school year and subsequent SFSP review period. The Child Nutrition QA Specialist’s primary duties include performing quality assurance reviews of completed Administrative Reviews to ensure a high level of consistency, accuracy, grammar, and USDA and state-specific guidance has been upheld. Additionally, this position may help develop written guidance and procedures for completing quality assurance reviews, helping to design and implement a reviewer feedback tool and completing administrative tasks as necessary. There is potential for growth opportunities within CN Resource as we continue to grow and implement new contracts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Monitors, evaluates, and analyzes nutrition program compliance with all required
  • state and federal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure that the completion of all required questionnaires and forms and review tools related to Administrative Reviews with the Child and Adult Food Care Program has been completed with a high level of accuracy, consistency, and grammar. Ensure state-specific guidance has been implemented across each review.
  • Provide ongoing training to the quality assurance team based on guidance from each state agency.
  • Provide technical assistance to the quality assurance team to aid in their understanding of program requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a consistent work product across all areas of review.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned, when appropriate.

Knowledge Required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human nutrition or related field.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations pertaining to child nutrition programs specifically the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
  • Ability to identify a reimbursable meal under various CACFP meal patterns.
  • Ability to recognize program deficiencies and irregularities.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of prior CACFP sponsor or CACFP compliance-related experience.

  • Fingerprint clearance (as applicable) will be required.
