Summary of Position: This position is responsible for the performance of high quality ultrasound in the areas of Adult Transthoracic, Adult Transesophageal, Adult Stress. The Echo cardiology Sonographer must possess advanced knowledge in Cardiac anatomy, physiology and disease process. Has the ability to analyze image quality and initiate measures and or adapt technical procedure. This position requires working knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment and the dexterity to operate it. Utilizes the use of an EMR to generate reports. Reports to the Manager of Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Services and works as a team to support the Cardiology Technical Specialist in areas of accreditation and day to day operations.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree or specialized training in a health related field, Such as Biological Sciences Radiology, Nursing or other health science required. RDCS, ARDMS and BLS required.
