Job description
The Cardiovascular Technician I assists in the acquisition of data by performing EKG, and with application of holter, event monitors independently, including explanation of test, application of electrodes using accepted techniques and placement. Assists with stress echo and nuclear stress testing according to hospital and departmental policy under the direct supervision of a nurse. Properly bills for completed procedures. High School Diploma or equivalent. BLS. Minimum of 1 year direct patient care experience. 1 to 2 years of experience as a MA, PCA, CTA or clinical partner in a cardiology setting is preferred, strong communication, problem solving, team work and interpersonal skills required. Performs EKGs, basic computer skills and vital signs, manual blood pressures
High School Equivalent / GED Medical Assistant diploma/certificate preferred.
