We are recruiting for a full-time Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to join our skilled team in Marlton, NJ. This position is 40 hours per week and is eligible for our full benefits package! Duel-Certified Child Life Special strongly encouraged

POSITION SUMMARY:

• An integral member of the Interdisciplinary Team, responsible for the assessment of play, recreation, leisure skills, and psychosocial adjustment to hospitalization, to facilitate therapy, leisure education, and recreation participation for the pediatric (re)habilitation of children ages birth to 21 years of age.
• Responsible for adherence to the scope and standards of practice as defined by the American Therapeutic Recreation Association.
• Demonstrates professional judgment, uses problem solving techniques and time management principles to achieve quality outcomes for each patient.
• Participate in patient and family teaching and work collaboratively with other disciplines on the interdisciplinary team to maintain optimal standards of patient care and assure carryover of treatment plans/goals as indicated.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree Therapeutic Recreation
• Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist by NCTRC required.
• Dual-Certified Child Life Specialist preferred
• Experience working with children with disabilities or chronic illness.
• Ability to supervise groups of infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities in a safe manner.
• Pediatric experience in medical settings preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well as a team member.
• Rotating weekend schedule
