Job description
Project Work: Work projects will support conservation and preservation needs that are a high priority for the National Park Service. Projects will largely be focused on trail maintenace and rehabilitation. Additional projects may focus on invasive species removal, historic structure preservation, public structure construction, projects related to deferred maintenance, and increasing recreation access as time allows.

Compensation & Benefits:
- One-time travel allowance: $650 paid once (pre-tax)
- Weekly living allowance: $500 / week (pre-tax)
- Housing provided by SCA - Will likely be a shared house with the crew.
- Eligible for Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority certificate upon successul completion of the program - This benefit allows corps members to compete for permanent federal jobs as if they are already a federal employee rather than the general public.
Hiring preference is given to young adult alumni from SCA’s Atlanta based urban program.
All team members are required to be fully vaccinated for this position. Full vaccination is defined as having received a booster shot six months after the Pfizer and Moderna primary series and two months after the Johnson & Johnson primary series.

Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area contains a rich assemblage of natural resources, and the park’s green space provides a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities as well as cultural and educational activities. The park is used as a valuable outdoor recreation resource by the over six million people located within the Atlanta metropolitan area as well as visitors from around the world. The Chattahoochee River begins in northern Georgia, passes through Lake Lanier and the suburbs north of Atlanta, and continues to the Georgia–Florida border as a tributary to the Apalachicola River, totaling 540 river miles. On August 15, 1978, President Jimmy Carter signed legislation that set aside the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area as a unit in the national park system. Located in the urban and suburban regions between Lake Lanier and Atlanta, Georgia, the park contains 48 river miles and 5,226 land acres.
